Community Programs

Connected and informed communities are the key to addressing climate impacts, like the shock of sudden natural disasters and the increase of climate-induced displacement and migration. When resources are stable and relationships are sound, we are poised for peace. Developing needs-based and community-driven solutions will be critical if we are to appropriately manage coastal retreat from our coastlines, facilitate widespread migration across the Pacific Ocean, and address the adverse climate impacts on poor women and their families. Our adaptation strategies for the 21st century climate crisis will require programming models that place community resilience front and center in the conversation.
